$20,350 Strikeout Challenge Check to Be Presented to Starting Right, Now Before Rays Game Friday

Crown Automotive Group will join forces with Chris Archer & the Rays Baseball Foundation for the "Strikeout Challenge" check presentation on Friday. Crown pledged $25 for every strikeout recorded by Archer, bringing the total to $75 per strikeout.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Sept. 28, 2017

Archer, and the Rays Baseball Foundation announced today that they will present a $20,350 check to Starting Right, Now in support of Chris Archer's Pledge To "Strikeout" Teen Homelessness. The presentation is scheduled to take place at Tropicana Field on Friday, September 29 before the Tampa Bay Rays game.

Chris Archer partnered with the Rays Baseball Foundation at the beginning of the season in an effort to end teen homelessness. The Foundation agreed to match Archer's $25 donation every time the pitcher recorded a strikeout. The automotive dealership group joined in support by pledging an additional $25 per strikeout, bringing the total per strikeout to $75.

"We feel fortunate to be able to help those in our community that are most vulnerable. Teen homelessness is a serious issue and all too prevalent. We are happy to help give teens a home and a brighter future," said Jim Myers, President of Crown Automotive Group.

Presenting the check to Vicki Sokolik, Founder and Executive Director of Starting Right, Now, will be Archer, Rays President of Baseball Operations Matt Silverman, and Crown Automotive Group President Jim Myers.

Rays fans also donated $2,125 to the cause.

Starting Right, Now is a nonprofit organization that combats homelessness for youth through one-on-one mentoring, providing a stable home, obtaining employment, teaching financial literacy, life skills and promoting educational achievement.

Crown Automotive Group Partners With Florida Dream Center For Week Long Food Drive

The St. Petersburg-based automotive dealership group began its week long food drive yesterday in partnership with the Florida Dream Center, a local non-profit that will distribute food to those affected by Hurricane Irma. Crown Automotive Group also announced plans to make significant corporate donations to Hurricane Irma relief efforts organized by the Florida Automobile Dealers Charitable Relief Foundation and the Salvation Army.

Crown Automotive Group is hosting a week long Food Drive in partnership with Florida Dream Center of Pinellas County, FL. The food drive will benefit those affected by the recent hurricane and distributed in locations released by the Florida Dream Center where anyone in need can pick up supplies.

"We feel fortunate to be able to help those in need at this moment. So many lost their food supply in the power outage, and also were not able to work to earn money to replenish their loss. We hope that others that are also able can join the Crown Dealerships family in support and solidarity as we help strengthen our community after the Hurricane. Whether it's one can or one bag of non-perishable food, every contribution is needed, and it all goes a long way," said Jim Myers, president of Crown Automotive Group.

The dealership group has placed donation bins in its Pinellas county dealerships and has released a short list of suggested non-perishable items:

Residents of the area are encouraged to donate as many non-perishable items as they can. A full list of dealership drop off locations was also released through the company's website.

Crown Automotive Group also announced plans to make significant financial contributions to the Florida Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation. This fund will help employees of the Florida Automobile Dealers Association in the areas devastated by Hurricane Irma.

Crown will also make a sizable donation to relief efforts in the Keys and Southwest Florida through the Salvation Army.

Jeff Sparks was named the Grand Prize winner of the $5,000 Giveaway coordinated by both Crown Tennessee dealerships this past Saturday, August 26. Sparks is the third winner announced since the contest began earlier this year.

The third winner of the $5,000 Giveaway coordinated by Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Chattanooga and Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Cleveland was recently announced on Saturday, August 26.

Jeff Sparks accepted the $5,000 grand prize in person at the Crown Chattanooga location.

Both dealerships have confirmed that this will be an ongoing promotion with a new winner announced quarterly in an effort to promote the tagline: "Home of the $5,000 Giveaway!"

Winners are chosen at random from patrons who complete a test drive at either Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Chattanooga or Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Cleveland. No purchase is necessary to participate.
