THE CROWN AUTOMOTIVE GRATEFUL GOBBLER IS SET FOR NEXT THURSDAY:

Walk, Roll or Stroll to Support the Maclellan Shelter for Homeless Families

Chattanooga, TN. (November 15, 2023)

One of Chattanooga’s most-loved traditions is ready for their 24th year.

The Crown Automotive Group Grateful Gobbler Walk is set for Thanksgiving morning, November 23 at Coolidge Park beginning at 7:00 a.m. with music, prizes for the biggest teams registered, a prize for best costume, Mr. and Mrs. Claus and of course, the return of the not-so-world renowned Kazoo band. The walk will begin promptly at 8 a.m. taking the crowd across the Market Street Bridge, down Market Street with a turnaround at ML King Boulevard before returning back to Coolidge Park.

Event co-chairs Jay and Cynthia Dale will be welcoming the crowd as they gather to celebrate the holiday and encourage walkers to register. Jay Dale noted, “Every dollar raised for the walk goes directly to the Maclellan Homeless Shelter for Families. At this time of year when we gather with our own families, we’re provided with a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on a homeless family. As market president for First Horizon, I’d like to encourage my counterparts, colleagues and friends to join us on Thanksgiving morning.”

Crown Automotive Group president and chief operating officer Jim Myers said, “Crown is honored to give back to the Maclellan Homeless Shelter for Families and we’re excited to share that Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their first official appearance of the season at the walk.”

The Grateful Gobbler Walk is being implemented by Friends of the Festival, Chattanooga’s premier event company. Executive Director Mickey McCamish said, “We are honored to have approximately 100 volunteers joining us for this year’s event. It’s not too late to volunteer and it’s not too late to register to walk. Whether you’d like to help at packet pick up, join the kazoo band or register a group of friends for the walk, we’re excited to see you next Thursday!”
